So, in summary, the staples for a wintry NYFW outfit included a sick coat, avant garde shoes, a statement purse and hipster sunglasses. Fashion blogs featured backdrops with pretty, snowy, sparkling scenery, and yet, the actual favorable street style snapshots captured frequent yellow taxi cabs, street hustle bustle and awed bystanders. The minimalist approach taken by street style mavens during this fashion week was ultimately the biggest takeaway from NYFW. Noticeably, fashion cognoscenti took a well deserved break from large, decorated, statement earrings, gaudy necklaces and bauble bracelets. And surprisingly, there was a welcomed, semi-sabbatical from sneakers and over-the-knee boots.
